Cancellation Policy

Kalon cancellation policy

Kalon’s cancellation policy aims to ensure fair scheduling and minimize disruptions to the stylists’ schedules while accommodating clients’ needs.

Key points:

  • Appointment Confirmation: Appointments are confirmed upon booking, and clients receive email/text confirmations with details.
  • Cancellation Notice: Clients must notify Kalon at least 24 hours in advance to avoid fees. Notifications can be made via phone, email, text, or the salon management software (Timewise).
  • Cancellation Fees:
    • Cancellations within 24 hours: 50% of the service cost.
    • No-shows: 100% of the service cost.
  • Fee Application: Cancellation fees are charged to the credit card on file. Unpaid fees may affect future booking privileges.
  • Rescheduling: Rescheduling is subject to availability and may incur fees depending on the timing of the original cancellation.
  • While deposits will no longer be required upfront, it’s possible that if you have a history of late cancellations or no-shows, you may be required to prepay for future appointments.
  • Exceptions: Exceptions to the cancellation policy may be made in cases of emergency or illness.

Add Minor Service Policy and Parental Consent

Our commitment to safety

At Kalon Salon and Spa, we are committed to providing a safe, relaxing, and professional experience for all clients. Our policy for serving minors is designed to ensure their safety and well-being, as well as the peace of mind of their parents or legal guardians. The following rules and age requirements are in place for this purpose.

Age-based service requirements

  • Ages 13 and under: For the safety of the child, a parent or legal guardian must be present on the salon floor for the entire duration of the service, from the initial consultation to the final payment. This is due to the potential hazards on the styling floor, such as sharp shears, hot tools, and chemicals.
  • Ages 14–17: Minors aged 14 and 17 may receive a wider range of services with a parent or legal guardian’s written consent, which must be provided on-site at the initial appointment. For these clients, the parent is not required to remain on-site after the consultation, provided they have signed the consent form and both the parent and client are comfortable with this arrangement.
  • Services with special restrictions: Services such as chemical treatments, and other specialized procedures may have stricter age requirements. We reserve the right to restrict certain services based on professional judgment and to avoid liability. For any minor chemical service, the parent must be present during the consultation to discuss potential risks, costs, and aftercare.

Parental or legal guardian responsibilities

  • Consultation and consent: A parent or legal guardian must participate in the consultation for the minor’s first service and sign our Parental Consent Form. This form will outline the services being performed, potential risks, and pricing.
  • In-salon conduct: For the safety of everyone, unsupervised children are not permitted in the salon at any time unless they are receiving a service. If a minor is not receiving a service, they must be supervised by an adult at all times in the waiting area.
  • Financial responsibility: The parent or legal guardian is responsible for payment for all services and any additional charges, which should be discussed during the initial consultation.
  • Rescheduling: We may need to reschedule an appointment if a minor arrives without a parent or guardian when one is required. This would be treated as a late cancellation, and a fee may be charged.

Salon and stylist rights

  • Refusal of service: The salon and its stylists reserve the right to refuse a service to any client, including a minor, at their discretion. This may happen if the desired service is deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or unethical for the minor’s age, hair, or skin condition.
  • Stopping a service: A service will be stopped immediately if the minor requests it. Our priority is the minor’s well-being and comfort.

Communication is key

We encourage parents to review this policy before booking an appointment for a minor. If you have any questions, please contact us directly. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and professional environment for everyone.
